As I'm building the two 4 course alto guitars (or double-course steel-string tenor ukuleles, if you prefer) I'm working on right now, I'm thinking ahead to getting cases for them. They are sort of tear-drop shaped instruments that might fit sufficiently well in some existing case made for a mando- or bouzouki family instrument or something like that... or I might need to have something custom made. I'll be looking for very good quality, but not necessarily the Rolls Royce of cases. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good case manufacturer that makes a wide variety of cases for more unusual instruments where I might find a case that will work for these, or a good manufacturer for custom cases? Thanks! |

Todd, I'd like to know the answer to this too! I'm looking for a hard shell case for this: Anybody know where I can get a case for this? Tracy |

Ameritage can build you one. They have a dimensions sheet on their website (ameritage.com). You can also send them a tracing of the body just to be sure. |

Thanks for the suggestion, Paul. Can anyone suggest a case manufacturer that makes a variety of cases (stock, rather than custom) for off-the-beaten-track instruments (citterns, sazes, balalaikas, etc)? If I could find a stock case that's a close fit, that would make life simpler -- and less costly. |
